Congratulations to the De La Salle University for winning the finals of the UAAP Season 76 Men’s Basketball category! And congratulations to my Alma Mater as well, The Royal and Pontifical University of Santo Tomas for putting up a really great fight against the Green Archers! Of course I rooted for my school throughout the entire finals, but deep inside I’m also happy for Jeron Teng for bagging the MVP award and the championship.
It was heartbreaking when the weeping Jeric Teng was displayed on screen. But even though they missed the championship by two points this year, I’m sure the entire Thomasian community is still proud of the outgoing King Tiger and the rest of the gang as they really stepped up their play in the third and final game. Tata Bautista deserves recognition too. His assists were genius and they all counted! It was a super close and intense fight unlike in the second game where La Salle had a seven-point lead against UST. The Growling Tigers proved today that the team can only get better and that the world has more exciting games to look forward to in the next seasons of the UAAP.
Definitely I’ll always be cheering my heart out for UST, but since Jeron Teng is still in the DLSU line up in the next three years (as I’ve read somewhere, but correct me if I’m wrong), you might hear a few “Animo La Salle” from me in the next games. Hehe!
Thank you for the great game Archers and Tigers! Till next year!
